What is the purpose?
One of our main priorities in our Vision 2024-2025 is centered around investing in the Next Generation as our future leaders, pastors and elders. We want every young person to know that their church is part of a network that wants to help encourage them and to invest in them for the future. As a part of this network, we believe it’s important to build community and have fun together. The goal is not only to have a great time, but it is part of the broader purpose in building social cohesion and trust in our next-generation leaders!
Who is it for? (Age)
The is open for competitors in Grade 7 and above. It is primarily for Youth and Young adults. While we obviously don’t wish to exclude anyone, the focus on youth and young adults is designed to fit in with our strategic focus of “reaching the next generation”. For safety reasons, we need to ensure that small children aren’t at risk of accidental injury by older players.
What about Players under the age of 18?
Players under the age of 18 will required to complete and bring along a Parental Consent Form. See link below.
For Youth Group leaders, please ensure that all payers in your group/s who are under the age of 18 complete this and bring it along with them. At your discretion, you may also need your own consent process if you are using combined/bus transport to the event.
What about Players OVER the age of 18?
You will be required to complete a Risk Acknowledgment (electronically) prior to participating. It is best if you can complete this form prior to the event and confirm with your Team Leader / Youth Group Leader. You will also be able to do it on the day via a QR code / mobile device.
Consent and Risk Acknowledgement
Will there be a First Aid Officer in attendance?
Yes. We’ll have a doctor on standby to assist, just in case there are any injuries.
Is dinner provided?
Yes! Further details will be provided soon…
We’ll aim to have Gluten-Free options as well.
What is the Cost?
$10 per person. It includes dinner and helps cover costs.
You can pay on the day upon checking in by Cash or electronically / paypass.
Do we need to register?
While it is not essential before the event, as you can imagine, it will greatly help planning and catering. It will also give you and your team/s opportunity to build comradery before the event. If you are a youth group leader for example, it would help if you can give an approximate number of people who are expected to come from your church. You can also register as an individual, and we will slot you into a team on the day.
How will teams be arranged?
Generally, we’re asking each church to register teams. We recommend team sizes of between 8 and 15 people (10 is ideal). For example, your church might be bringing 23 people. In this case you might have one team of 11 and one team of 12. Again, if you are an individual, we’ll find a team for you on the day.
You might like to arrange teams with your youth/YA groups in the weeks leading up to the event.
What if we don’t have enough for a team?
No worries! Just register your team, regardless of size, and come along on the day – we’ll be able to combine your team with another small team or find some individuals to join you.
Reminder, you can register as a team or as an individual. (See below)
How do we get there?
Each person/team will be responsible for making their own way there. Your group may like to get a bus and travel from your church together. Please note, you will need to arrange for your own system of permission and consent for people under the age of 18 that might be travelling with you and attending under your care.
Where is it and how do I know where to go?
It will be held at Mueller College’s “Lacey Sports Centre” (75 Morris Rd, Rothwell). See below for a campus map for the best carpark entry and how to find the Lacey Sports Centre.
